Our logo design process begins with you, our customer in what we like to call the Design Brief.
Step 1 Design Brief
A design brief captures information about you, your organization, your customers and your focus. A solid logo design brief ensures that no time is wasted, and that you receive targeted logo options as soon as possible. The logo brief also helps us focus our attention on the areas that best serve your business, making you much happier with the final result.
Our aim is always to create the best logos possible, and you can download a PDF file for our logo design questionnaire (approx. 500kb in size, opening in a new window).
Step 2 Research and Brainstorming
With completed brief in hand our illustrators take the information you’ve given us and begin the second stage. We take into consideration your competition, trends in the market, what sets you apart, your history, your future, your current brand, and the one you aspire to.
Again, it’s important to provide as much information as possible in the logo design brief / questionnaire, in order for a comprehensive approach towards research and brainstorming.
Step 3 Proof Generation / Client Review
Based upon your input and our research our illustrators will prepare a series of logo proofs in draft form. Depending upon which logo creation package you decide upon you can receive 1 or more revisions on a selected logo.
Step 4 Finalize Files / Delivery
We will supply you with a selection of file types, for use in both print work, and online. If you have any specific file sizes needed e.g. 200 pixels in width for use on your website, that’s no problem at all. We also provide a reversed option, for use on black / dark backgrounds. File types we're happy to provide are:
.eps
.psd
.ai

.gif
.png
.tiff
If you have any special requirements, please just let us know and I’ll do all I can to accommodate you.
Step 5 Copyright / Trademark (Optional)
Protecting your coporate identity is very important and MDI takes protection of our work very seriously. MDI has partnered with a Copyright Attorney to assist clients in the protecton of the logo design. Each client, at their option at time of sale, may choose to have their logo prepared for copyright and trademark work and take copyright "ownership" of the work. If a client opts not to copyright the work MDI may copyright the work as our to protect the work from unauthorized use.
